This week I am kind of assigning myself a theme, I am only going to shoot with the 50 1.4 this week. Kind of see what life is like shooting 50 on full frame. My mind is still used to DX and the framing surprises me every time when I think I have the composition I want, it ends up being a little wider than I expected.
Sometimes the shot of the day hits you first thing in the morning. After parking I realized this crane was left hanging over the fence and into the walkway so I pulled my camera out of the bag and shot this standing under the crane. This is exactly the shot I had in my mind when I saw it, really excited with the way it worked out.
Pretty lazy Sunday for me so I just took a couple snap shots around the living room to play with the camera this morning while the coffee was kicking in. Honestly I just shot these to click the camera a couple times. The second image I knew I wanted to edit as black and white, more to play with the line down the middle of light to dark than anything else.
This image is pretty self explanatory. Last night was playing with the 50 1.4 wide open around the house. This is my favorite shot of the evening.
So I sold the D500 and my DX lenses and have jumped into full frame. I did take a little hiatus from digital shooting and spent a few months shooting 35mm film. It was fun but I definitely missed digital and the instant results. So this post is me restarting my photo a day attempt. I am not going to count or call it a 365, this will be more of a casual thing for me posting when I feel inspired, and not worrying about it when I don’t. So the first post from my new to me Nikon D750 is this image. Shot looking through a Nikon 50 1.8 AIS lens I had on my desk. This was shot for a photo challenge on the Nikon subreddit, I liked it so much it is my photo of the day. I raised the exposure by .10 in lightoom, everything else is straight out of the camera.
