Had a friend come by the office this afternoon in uniform. He decided to see if he could conduct through some screws and I knew I had to try and get a photo.

I wanted to work on lighting and lines today. Wound up shooting a fogged window and played with skewing from one side to the other to move the “eye” with the photograph.

I didn’t have alot of inspiriation today so I ended up with a B&W portrait of my coffee mug. I know it sounds like a waste of a shot but I’m actually pretty happy with the way it came out, the contrast of black and white is what I am working on and this seemed to hit that spot for me.

The Nikon FG was the first camera I used. It is a 35mm film camera my dad had sitting in his closet. I asked him to let me use it and after a while he finally relented. I remember the first rolls of film I took with it. Anyway I still have it, and I am still running film through it.

So I fell a little behind on my plan to write a little blurb about each photo. I’m not sure if I will go back and back post the one pictures I missed, I did take them just didn’t post about it here. Anyway gonna try and keep up with it from this point forward.

Took this picture out of my office window this morning as a cold front blew across campus. Tried to get the menacing colors of the clouds, not sure its exactly what I wanted but its pretty close.

Playing with the 50 1.4G today at work, wide open this lens looks great. I did pick up another toy…..found a really great deal on a D500 that I could not turn down. So this shot was me playing with both my new photography toys. The D500 is incredible and I am really liking it. I will write up another post specifically talking about the D500 after I have it for a while.
